alchera project

Poetry/Option No. Two: Okay, this month we're still going to deal a bit with history. Do a little bit of research on the year you were born--find out things like inventions, popular movies and entertainers, important events, et cetera--and write a poem dedicated to your birth and include things you learned about your year of birth. Sort of throw them in there creatively.

1975

Michele is a name
of a girl
in a town
who was oblivious
to the world
which flowed around her.

She thought she knew
what she wanted
who she loved
what she liked
but she was wrong.

She knew pain.
Knew it well.
Did not discuss it
that wasn't allowed.

In the end
she wanted
loved
liked
everything different.

And that was okay.
